Swissport to bolster ties with TSN

SwiSSport Chief Executive officer, Mr Gaudence temu (right) gives a gift to the Acting Managing Editor of TSN Mr Gabriel Nderumaki.SWISSPORT Tanzania Ltd and Tanzania Standard Newspaper (TSN) on Friday agreed to promote business relations. This was said by the Swissport (T) Limited Chief Executive Officer, Mr Gaudence Temu during a visit to the TSN headquarters situated along Mandela Road in Dar es Salaam.

Mr Temu said the two organisations have worked closely for many years in different areas and it is high time for the two firms to identify and explore other opportunities of cooperation.He commended TSN, publishers of Daily News, Sunday News and Habari Leo for the good work and the trust it has in Swissport.

“The papers are doing a wonderful job and I believe that in the near future we will identify more opportunities of cooperation in order to expand businesses which will result into a win-win situation between the two firms,” he said.

 Swissport Tanzania Ltd is an aviation services company operating at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) and Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA). The company offers aviation services including cargo handling, passenger handling, ramp handling, executive aviation, clearing and forwarding, crew transportation, aviation security and courier services.

Mr Temu said that Swissport is planning to extend its cargo handling services to Songwe and Mtwara airports in a bid to  ensure local carriers are served on international standards.Mr Temu said that in an effort to alleviate the acute shortage of professionals in the sector, a training centre was started providing training opportunities in aviation.

Acting TSN Managing Editor Gabriel Nderumaki said TSN was committed to building up healthy partnerships with companies and Swissport is one of them.He said that the newspapers published by TSN are reliable and most authoritative and for Swissport to work closely with TSN the company will not only support the company but the government as well.

He mentioned that Habari Leo which is now penetrating remote areas could be used for wide coverage and provide necessary education on different issues.
