This was said by Azania Bank Managing Director Charles Singili, during the bank’s 2012 staff day which saw the bank’s staff members from the Headquarters and all its branches in Dar es Salaam participating in various sporting activities as well as dancing competition in an event held at Jangwani Sea breeze hotel beach area in Dar es Salaam at the weekend.
“This is a very important event for us because as Azania Bank we want our staff to stay healthy and physically, emotionally and mentally fit and through sports, we will be able to stay healthy and achieve a work life balance.
“Such events also helps us to know each other better and hence nourishing the team work spirit which helps us to achieve greater things even in the banking sector,” said Singili.
He said after working for a whole year serving customers and supporting them to achieve their development goals by offering unmatched financial services to the customers, the bank sees it right to take a day off to participate in sports and at the same time brainstorm on how it can serve better its loyal customers as well as supports the country’s economic growth.
Singili said among the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), supporting sports sector is one major area apart from supporting other sectors like health, education, housing and human settlement and financial sector. “Azania Bank does not only participate in sporting activities but also supports groups that use sports to achieve a common goal by donating various sporting gears,” he said.
During the day, participants engaged in a number of activities which included beach volleyball, beach football, swimming and dancing.
