“It is our long-term goal to brew products of the Namibian firm under licence locally,” James Rugemalira, MBWSL consultant told a news conference in Dar es Salaam yesterday.
Mr Rugemalira said Mabibo Beer Wines and Spirits Limited and Namibia Breweries recently entered into new strategic partnership agreement. He said under the agreement the local firm would be the sole importer and distributor of Windhoek Premium Lager beer, stressing that it is a criminal offence to sell the products in Tanzania without express permission of MBWSL.
Mr Rugemalira promised that following the agreement Windhoek Premium Lager Beer Code No. MB66 would no longer be out of stock in Tanzania. The news conference was also attended by the MBWSL General Manager, Mr Neil Stainton.
The firm also introduced new bottle for the Windhoek Premium Lager and other brands of the company including Windhoek Light and Climax Herbal Energy Drink. They said the recommended retail price of Windhoek Premium Lager is 2,500/- per a bottle, while Climax Herbal Energy Drink at 3,000/- for a can
