The bank adopted the school in August this year and has already donated 100 desks worth 8m/- in its programme that seeks to improve the learning environment.
Speaking during the handover ceremony at the school’s campus, the bank’s Managing Director Anthony Grant said the financial institution will work around the clock to ensure that the school’s challenges are tackled.
Some of the challenges facing the school include of desks, toilets, reliable safe and clean water supply and text books. Mr Grant said the bank values the role of education in the country’s development process. “Exim Bank believes education is the key to success.
We will continue supporting various educational projects in a bid to improver the learning environment,” he said. He challenged the teachers and students to ensure that the library is well maintained to serve more students in the future.
Earlier, the school’s Head teacher Abdul Kuratasa thanked the bank for the support and urged other companies to emulate such efforts. “The school faces so many challenges but we are happy that Exim Bank has come to support us”, he said. He said the library will help improve learning environment at the school and the surrounding communities.
