The 36 holes stroke play national tournament is organised by AGC in collaboration with Tanzania Golf Union (TGU).
The host AGC captain Bob Chadha has told the ‘Daily News on Saturday’ that preparation for the event is on top gear.
Chadha said that the twoday annual national tournament is open for men’s and ladies who will be battling it out for the top honours.
He said that the Arushabased company Benson Security Systems will take over the main sponsor role at the tournament and thanked the company for coming forward to support the event.
Chadha added that Tanzania Breweries Ltd will be co-sponsors of the tournament that is expected to draw over 80 players from different Tanzania based clubs.
“We have sent invitation to other clubs including Tanzania People’s Defence Forces (TPDF) Lugalo and Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club (DGC) - all of Dar es Salaam, Morogoro Gymkhana Club, Misenyi Country and Golf Club of Bukoba, Kagera, TPC Moshi and Moshi Gymkhana Club - all of Kilimanjaro,” he said.
Chadha said that fabulous prizes will be up for grab by the winners of all categories including Gross winner and runners up and there will also be two prizes for Division A nett, Division B, Division A, Ladies, senior and juniors nett winners.
He appealed to golfers to turn up in big numbers to make the tournament a success. National team ace Nuru Mollel, John Saidi of AGC and Abbas Adam of Moshi Club are among top players that are expected to battle it out for the top gross prizes.
