The one-day Spanish Tiles golf event will take place on May 10 at the AGC course. “Preparations are in top gear and the event will produce a lot of fun, so we invite Arusha-based sports well-wishers to attend and contribute to the team,” Laicer said.
AGC has granted a request by the Tanzania Ladies Golf Union (TLGU) to host the tournament aimed to facilitate the national team’s preparation and participation in the All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT) to be held at Muthaiga Golf Club in Nairobi, Kenya from June 8-12 this year.
The AACT tournament that will bring together about 19 African for the first time will be a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
It will be followed by the Kenya Ladies Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship on June 14 and 15 at the same course.
Laicer said that they decided to invite AGC non-members to the Spanish Tiles event to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of the club premises and support the team.
She thanked AGC golf section and its captain Robby Chadha for supporting the tournament.
TLGU are looking for about 20m/- to cater for the team’s training camp, golf accessories and ten day-trip to Nairobi.
