The beneficiaries were Magoto and Nyakonga primary schools and Magoto Secondary School that accommodate thousands of students and pupils hailing mostly from low income families.
Dr Lu hailed the ongoing investments being made by the government of Tanzania in the education sector and wanted the efforts to be supported by all stakeholders describing education as key to development.
Speaking at the handing over occasion held at Magoto Secondary School, Minister for Energy and Minerals, Sospeter Muhongo called for serious and heavy investment in science subjects if the nation is to achieve fast development.
He advised authorities in Tarime to consider adding science combinations at the envisaged Magoto High School after the school report shows that the school will soon enrol forms five and six students taking arts subjects.
Prof Muhongo said Tanzania needs science experts at this time than ever, citing emerging of gas economy as one of the pushing factors.
