It is shrewd hire, fire at transfer window

AS the transfer window heads to a climax, teams continue to hire and drop some of their players in a deliberate move to create effective squads ahead of the 2022/23 season.

On August 13th this year, Simba and Young Africans vie for a Community Shield at Benjamin Mkapa to officially open the new season. This match will somehow help the football fraternity to anticipate what type of the league one should expect since the two teams are the best decorated football teams in Tanzania.

The domestic transfer market is now on fire with many surprising deals being accomplished and that simply indicates the new season is likely to be highly competitive.

The newly promoted Ihefu have joined the chain and recently signed Zambian striker Obrey Chirwa and he becomes among a few imports to have traded at four different Premier League clubs in the country.

He first registered his name in the country’s football while featuring for Young Africans before he moved to Azam and Namungo and now, his boots have landed at the Mbarali-based outfits.

Ihefu have also brought on board defender Juma Nyoso, who previously played for Geita Gold, one of the envoys in the CAF Confederation Cup duels.

Another side which is making scary domestic signings are Singida Big Stars who have already picked Hans Van Pluijm as their Head Coach to be assisted by the former Mbeya City coach, Mathias Lule with both coaches having vast experience with the country’s league.

Recently, the Singidabased team hooked Deus Kaseke, Yassin Mustapha and Paul Godfrey all from Yanga as well as Said Ndemla from Mtibwa Sugar as they aim to bring thunderstorm in the Premier League.

Under the tutelage of Hans Van Pluijm, people have already predicted a good season to the Singida giants who will be making their debut in the top flight league with experienced players.

Singida Big Stars also unveiled Ramadhan Nswanzurimo as the Technical Director after doing a great job of helping the club to get promoted while Dismas Ten will be its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

On the other hand, KMC through their Instagram page have parted ways with eleven players including the Kenyan import, goalkeep-er Farouk Shikalo who has since cherished the good moments he had at the club and wished them all the best.

The Kinondoni-based side have probably scooped first position as far as releasing a big number of players at once before the start of the next term is concerned and their supporters are anxiously waiting to see the new blood which is to be injected in the team ahead of the next term.

Aside from KMC, Polisi Tanzania have also let go nine players as they want to restructure their team and make it competitive enough in the league. The Moshi-based club has since gone extra mile by introducing Burundian trainer Joslin Sharif who has signed a one-year contract after parting ways with former coach Malale Hamsini.

As such the Premier League continues to float internationally bearing in mind that even middle teams of Polisi Tanzania caliber are going beyond borders to recruit an expatriate coach. However, not much has so far being heard from Geita Gold who will be among the busiest clubs in the upcoming campaign due to their involvement in CAF Confederation Cup games.

Their coach Felix Minziro recently announced that they are taking each preparation step seriously and that people should expect them to have a good ride in the CAF Confederation Cup next season because they have skilled players.

It will be the first time for them to compete in the confederation cup and they already stamped a perfect record of climbing up into the premier league and in the same season, claiming a chance to feature in CAF run competitions which is rare but great achievement.

All in all, there is no doubt that all four envoys in CAF Interclub games which are Young Africans, Simba, Azam and Geita Gold will fly high the national flag in the international competitions.
