He said the health staff have shown high patriotism by providing better services to various people, including leaders and various founders of the union.

He urged the health experts to continue serving people who went for treatment at the centre.

President Hussein Mwinyi over the weekend visited KMKM Hospital to console Mzee Omar.

Mzee Omar was admitted to the hospital for treatment, and after the Friday prayers, Dr Mwinyi visited him and expressed gratitude to the military hospital for continuing to provide medical services to the people who visit the health facility, pledging that the government will extend its support to it.

The First President of Tanzania, the late Mwalimu Julius Nyerere mixed the soils from Tanganyika and Zanzibar in a pot to symbolize the formalization of the Union between the then two independent countries.

President Mwinyi was impressed with the provision of services at the hospital-owned by anti-smuggling squad KMKM and promised to cooperate with the facility in im- proving health services in the Isles as well as all the military hospitals in Zanzibar.
