Tanzania receives 115,200 Janssen vaccine doses from Belgium

Tanzania has received a consignment of 115,200 Janssen vaccine doses donated by the Belgium Government under COVAX arrangement.

Receiving the consignment at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) on Friday, the Minister for Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children Dorothy Gwajima said the vaccines will boost the country’s effort in the fight against a deadly Covid-19 pandemic.

The Minister said that the vaccine doses are available at all health facilities across the country as she encouraged unvaccinated people to get the jab.

So far, the country has received a total of 4,421,540 doses of vaccines from Sinopharm, Janseen and Pfizer.

However, she reminded citizens to take all necessary precautions by wearing face masks, sanitizing their hands frequently and to adhere to various instructions from health experts.
