KMC claim awake from slumber, warn giants

KINONDONI Municipal Council (KMC) coach Habibu Kondo has promised to end the team’s dismal performance by winning their next NBC Premier League game against Geita Gold and Simba.

KMC will first host Geita Gold at Benjamin Mkapa stadium before then playing against the defending champions, Simba.

KMC have picked Ally Hassan Mwinyi Stadium in Tabora as the venue for their December 24th  fixture against Simba.

KMC who got their first Premier League victory against Azam, are placed in 14th with six points  after winning once, drawing thrice and three losses from seven games.

Kondo the former Railway Morogoro and national team’s central defender, said that the poor results they got in their early games of the Premier League, was largely contributed by the lack of proper technical bench as some of them were in Morogoro attending coaching courses.

“In our early games our team struggled and stamped poor results that were due to the fact that some of the technical bench members were out in Morogoro.

“I and Juma Kaseja were attending a coaching course in Morogoro. We were not with the team but now we are back to fight and finish among the top teams, ”said Kondo.

He said after they have now reunited with the team and their arrivals helped the team stamp the first win of the league against Azam.

We won 2-1 with goals from Matteo Antony and Hassan Kabunda.

“Last season we were among the top five teams, but in some games we were denied good results by poor officiating mainly in the matches against Simba or Yanga. This season we plan to finish in a better position than that of the last season,” said Kondo.

He said this season’s league is tougher than that of the last season, but he insisted that poor refereeing will only be the factor that will deter the competition of this season.

He said there are some signs of bad refereeing that Tanzania Football Federation(TFF) need to act tough to ensure all teams got the results they deserved.
