HESLB releases second batch of loan beneficiaries 

The Higher Education Student Loans Board (HESLB) has released a second batch of 7,364 first-year students qualified for loans worth 19.4bn/-.

Previously, the board issued a first batch of 45,095 students enrolled in the various local higher learning institutions and their respective loans amounted to 119.3bn/-, the Executive Director of HESLB, Abdul–Razak Badru told reporters on Friday. 

According to Mr Badru, the government has set aside 570bn/-for a total of 160,000 student who will qualify for loans.

Of the 160,000 beneficiaries, 70,000 are first year students and more than 90,000 are those continuing beneficiaries.
However, Mr Badru asked loans to visit Student’s Individual Permanent Account (SIPA) regularly for updates regards to loan application process. 

The director said a third batch of loan beneficiaries released on Monday, October 25, 2021 after completing the ongoing application analysis.
