Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Amos Makalla has instructed residents in Tanzania’s commercial city to wear face masks at whenever they are in crowded areas.
The regional boss issued the directive on Thursday; few days after Health Ministry warned wananchi of the third Covid-19 wave and advised them to take all necessary prevention measures.
Speaking in the city, Mr Makalla said it is important for citizens to take precautions ahead of the third wave that has already hit neighboring countries.
“People should wear face masks in crowded places like markets, meeting, ceremonies, health centers, in offices, bars, schools, universities and all other places of gatherings,” Mr Makalla insisted.
Meanwhile RC Makalla instructed all district commissioners, institutions and security agencies to execute his directive.
