Military pays tribute to Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip

Gun salutes have been fired across the UK, in Gibraltar and at sea in memory of the Duke of Edinburgh. 

According to BBC, guns were fired in London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and in County Down, as well from Royal Navy warships. 

Ships taking part included HMS Diamond, HMS Montrose and HMNB Portsmouth

Two of the Queen's sons - Prince Edward and Prince Andrew - have visited the Queen at Windsor Castle

People across the world are continuing to pay tribute after his death at the age of 99 on Friday

A salute was also held outside Parliament House in Canberra, Australia earlier

The Queen announced the death of her "beloved" husband with "deep sorrow"

The duke's four children have shared their reflections on his life in a BBC special programme
