MISS Tanzania 2018, Queen Elizabeth Makune will leave the country today for China in time for Miss World finals, scheduled to be held early next month.
The country representative in the world prestigious beauty pageant has promised that “Tanzania is going to win.”
Queen Elizabeth told reporters at Tanzania Tourism Board (TTB) premises in Dar es Salaam, yesterday that she is well prepared for the finals and asked Tanzanians to make her dream come true through voting.
Elizabeth, the self-identified as Swahili language ambassador, is among contestants who will ‘battle’ in Miss World 2018 scheduled to take place in Sanya, China on December 8th this year.
At the 6 8th edition of the event, reigning Miss World, Indian Manushi Chhillar will crown her successor and Elizabeth believes she has the qualities ascend to the throne, if she will get a deserved support from Tanzanians.
After scoping the Miss Tanzania 2018 crown, TTB named her as Domestic Tourism Ambassador, a role she promised to play in China in this year’s competition.
Meanwhile, the Board’s Principle Public Relations Officer, Geoffrey Tengeneza presented her materials that will promote Tanzanian culture and tourism at the pageant.
Tengeneza told journalists that TTB believes that people of Elizabeth’s caliber are best in promoting domestic tourism “given the fact that they have many followers in social media platforms including Facebook.”
He said that during preparation of Miss Tanzania 2018, the Board conducted a capacity building to participants that’s why those who managed to feature in top five were given ambassadorial role to promote local tourist destinations.
The 22-year-old Elizabeth was crowned Miss Tanzania 2018 during the finals held on September 8th at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam.
