Tomorrow Stars will be away in Praia to take on Cape Verde in the 2019 AFCON group L qualifiers match. The Mwanza- based Alliance who are among the six teams which were promoted to the topflight league this season, are placed second from bottom of the table with five points after playing nine games.
They might pose problems to Yanga since they seemed to be getting used to the league challenges. However Yanga mission will depend on the results of match between leaders Azam and African Lyon at the Azam Complex.
The win for Azam will earn them 21 points, hence denying Yanga the top slot because the win against Alliance will give them 19 points.
Yanga’s traditional rivals Simba will host Stand United at the National Stadium a day after Yanga play Alliance.
The Msimbazi Street- based are keen to maintain their winning spree securing a slim 2-1 win over African Lyon in their last encounter. League title holders, Simba are placed sixth with 14 points from seven outings and are behind Singida United and JKT Tanzania who are placed fourth and fifth respectively despite tying on 16 points.
The bottom placed Mwadui FC with only two points from its eight games, will host Ruvu Shooting at Mwadui Complex while Ndanda FC will welcome Mbeya City at Nangwanda Sijaona Stadium in Mtwara.
In Musoma, Biashara United will clash against KMC at Karume Stadium, Tanzania Prisons who lost the previous games against Mbeya City in the Mbeya derby, will host Singida United at the Sokoine Stadium.
Lipuli FC will host Kagera Sugar at Samora Stadium in Iringa while Mbao FC will be at CCM Kirumba Stadium to welcome Mtibwa Sugar.
