WOULD you, esteemed reader, believe that there’d be a day when there’d be NO NEWS ‘worth releasing – especially by the highly-reputable British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC)? Reportedly, on April 18, 1930, the BBC blithely announced in their evening programme that “there’s no news!”

THE ‘Born Free’ bit in the title to this LUCUBRATION is borrowed or stolen from the 1996 British drama film of the same title based on a 1960 book by one Joy Adamson, titled ‘Born free, a lioness of two worlds.’ The book is an autobiography of sorts woven around Kenya residents Joy and George Adamson who raised an orphaned lioness cub they christened ‘Elsa.’
