THE Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has sent condolence message following the death of established journalists Halima Mchuka and John Ngahyoma.

TFF Information Officer, Boniface Wambura said they have received with shock the news on the death of TBC announcer and the first lady soccer commentator, Halima Mchuka and BBC reporter, John Ngahyoma.

“Their deaths are not only a blow to Tanzania media but also to TFF, which has been working closely with the journalists,” said Wambura.

He said they will live to remember their services in soccer, saying Mchuka was a member in the TFF media committee in 2005 during the East and Central Africa clubs championship held in Mwanza, while Ngahyoma has worked as sports reporter with the 'Daily News' in the late 1980s and continued reporting sports especially covering soccer while serving the BBC.

TFF extended condolences to the families of the late Ngahyoma, Mchuka as well as TBC and BBC and urged them to remain calm during the trying times.

Meanwhile, TASWA has sent condolences to members of the domestic media for the deaths of prominent journalists and sportspersons, Halima Mchuka, who passed away on Thursday, and John Ngahyoma, who passed away on Friday.

Mhando said TASWA has been saddened by the news of the duo’s deaths and has sent condolences to the families of the deceased, members of the domestic media, domestic sportsmen and women, and the rest in this difficult moment.
