THE Tanzania Sports Writers Association (TASWA) Executive Committee has appointed renowned sportsman and soccer players’ agent, Damas Ndumbaro, to head the association’s committee for constitutional review.

TASWA General Secretary, Amir Mhando, said the association’s executive committee met in Dar es Salaam recently and, among others, agreed to review the body’s constitution with the aim of ensuring it adapts to the present environment.

Mhando, who will also be in the constitution review committee, mentioned other members in the committee as TASWA Assistant General Secretary, George John, Alfred Lucas, who is a member of the association’s executive committee and will serve as the constitution review committee secretary, and another TASWA member, Mwani Nyangasa.

“The committee will supervise the process of the review and, later on, a special General Assembly for all of the association members will be convened with a view to go through the draft,” said Mhando, adding that the executive committee believes the process will not take long time so that the general assembly could take place before the first quarter of the next year.

Mhando said the TASWA executive committee meeting also came up with plans on training for the association’s members for the next year, in which the body’s secretariat has been tasked with coordinating dates for all courses and the matter will be released to the media on Sunday.

The training for the Northern Zone will be the first in the list considering the programme that had earlier been planned for November this year.
