    THE national netball team, Taifa Queens which took part in the All Africa Games and bagged a silver medal leaves today for Isles for Mapinduzi Cup tournament.

    Tanzania Amateur Netball Association, CHANETA official, Mwajuma Kisengo said the team will be under the experienced trainer, Mary Protas who led the side during the quadrennial Game in Maputo in September.

    She was optimistic that the team will perform well in the tournament, taking into account that the same players participated in the All Africa Games have been retained.

    The competition is expected to be more challenging considering that the side will meet with most of the teams they played during the games in Maputo which have been invited for the Mapinduzi Cup.

    Other teams listed for the tournament are from Zambia, Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, Kenya and Uganda. The Taifa Queens players making up the squad include Shooters Mwanaidi Hassan and Nelly Anyingsye (JKT Mbweni) and Zainab Khatib and Pili Juma (JKU).

    The defense comprise of Goal Defenders Doritha Mbunda (JKT Mbweni), Siwa Alli (Mafunzo) and Jacquiline Shemeza (Jeshi Stars), while the Goal Keeper is JKU's Magreth Constantine.

    The attacking line include Wing Attackers Veronica Patrick (Jeshi Stars), Mwanahamisi Saidi (Mafunzo) and Faraja Malaki (Jeshi Stars), while the Centre position will be maintained by Evodia Kazinja (Jeshi Stars) and Minza Nyenge (JKU).

    The wing defence will enjoy the services of Paskalia Kibayasa (Ikulu) and Lulu Joseph (JKT Mbweni).
