MISS Tabata beauty pageant has been slated for May 31 at the Da’ West Park, Tabata in Dar es Salaam, organisers revealed over the weekend.
The coordinator of the beauty contest, Godfrey Kalinga, said that this year’s event would be one of its kind based on the personality, talent physical and beauty of its contestants.
“We have qualified contestants who we hope one of them will win Miss Tanzania title,” Kalinga said, adding that the aspirants were already doing rehearsals at the Da’ West Park.
He named contestants who are doing rehearsal as Pendo Judica Moshi (20), Madgalena Bhoke (21), Kabula Juma Kibogoti (20), Queen Eliakim Masha (19), Upendo Dickson Lema (22), Martha Gewe (19), Zilpha Christopher (19) and Hidaya David (22).
Others are Aneth Ndumbalo (19), Amina Ally (18), Dorice Mollel (22), Eunice Nkoha (19), Kazunde Kitereja (19), Angela Fradius (19), Domina Soka (21), Rehema Kihinja (20), Glory Jigge (18) and Sophia Claud (21). Also listed for the event are Lilian Mpakani (19), Lilian Msanchu (19), Rita Frank (20), Pasilida Mandali (21), Rafhel Mussa (19), Jasmin Damian (18), Angelina Mkinga (19), Mercy Mwakasungu (20), Tunu Hamis (19), Brath Chambia (23), Ray Issa (22), Shamim Abass (22) and Shan Abass (22). Kalinga appealed for more contestants to turn up before the door was closed.
Five beauty queens from Miss Tabata will qualify for Miss Ilala pageant later this year, ahead of the 2013 Miss Tanzania event. The reigning Miss Tabata is Noela Michael who doubles as Miss Ilala. Miss Tabata is organised by Bob Entertainment and Keen Arts. Sponsors who have so far turned up are Fredito Entertainment, CXC Africa, Brake Point and Saluti5.
