Ndemla 40m screamer ends Dodoma FC fight

SAID Ndemla’s 35 yards screamer handed Simba a slim 1-0 win over First Division side Dodoma FC in a friendly match played at the Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma yesterday.

Despite losing, Dodoma FC under Head Coach Jamhuri Kihwelo, benefited much as it drilled its players for the First Division League. The fast improving Dodoma side fought gallantly against the giants, creating some few scoring opportunities, which however, they failed to utilise them into goals.

After an entertaining goalless draw in the first 45 opening minutes, both teams made several chances with Simba bringing on John Bocco, Nicholas Gyan, Jamal Mwambeleko and Mwinyi Kazimoto for Laudit Mavugo, Ally Shomari, Mohammed Hussein and Jamal Mnyate.

And, Ndemla’s shot in the 69th minute bounced in-front of goalkeeper, Jackson Chove and sailed into the back of the net. The creative midfielder received a short pass just outside the semi-circle and noticed the keeper was slightly off positioned before firing a blistering shot that took a slight bounce and swerved past the former Young Africans custodian.

Shortly after the match, Simba’s Vice captain, John Bocco praised on their hosts, saying they are a team capable of earning promotion to the top flight league next season. “They have given us a befitting test as we prepare for our next league match,” he said.

Simba, currently sitting top of the league table will face Mtibwa Sugar on October 15th this year. Dodoma FC skipper, Nassoro Said Cholo said they lost to a better side but was full of praise to his fellow players.

“This match gave us a perfect drill ahead of the coming league,” Cholo, the former Simba defender and skipper said. Alliance claim First Division’s pilot seat. The match came a few days after the Dodoma-based side lost 1-0 away to Alliance FC at Nya magana Stadium in Mwanza as reported by Alexander Sanga in Mwanza.

Alliance goal was netted by Israel Mwenda through a freekick and his powerful shot overpowered Dodoma FC goal keeper, Jackson Chove. The win delighted Alliance FC Head Coach, Mbwana Makata who lauded his players for the good job and urged them to maintain the spirit to enable the team to stay at the top.

Speaking after the match Dodoma FC coach Jamhuri Kihwelo who admitted the defeat still commended his boys for the good play. He said they will work hard to ensure they win the remaining eleven matches.

However, the Dodoma Head Coach, admitted his team made several mistakes and their opponents capitalized on them to claim a slim win.
