THE Ministry of Health says some people who are not employed by the Ministry are living in the Ministry houses contrary to the regulations.
The Ministry's Deputy minister Dr Sira Ubwa Mamboya informed lawmakers on Friday during questions and answer session of the House all illegal tenants will be asked to vacate the houses.
"We are in a process of identifying illegal tenants occupying the Ministry of Health houses. We need them out so that our staff, mainly medical doctors, can occupy them," Sira said.
She said currently the Ministry owns 15 houses, but not all occupants are health staffs, saying "many medical doctors still lack houses", Sira said when answering questions from Mr Mbarouk Wadi Mussa (CCM-Mkwajuni), Mr Makame Mshimba Mbarouk (CCM-Kitope)
