Kidatu-Kiberege road to be upgraded

THE Kidatu-Kiberege Road in Morogoro Region will be constructed to a tarmac level,the National Assembly was told on Friday.
Deputy Minister for Works Eng Gerson Lwenge said the 57.09 kilometres stretch waspart of the Kidatu-Ifakara-Lupiro-Malinyi-Londo- Lumecha 512 km road project, whichis set to be constructed at a tarmac level.
He said the implementation of the project was already in its advanced stages, inwhich the Government will soon tender bid to secure for an engineering consultant,who will be tasked to conduct feasibility study and drawing architectural designs forthe project to take off.
The deputy minister was responding to a question by Abdul Mteketa (Kilombero--CCM),who had sought to know when the Government wouldfulfil its promise to construct a road,to tarmac level that will stretch from Kidatu-Ifakara.
Meanwhile, the deputy minister also said that a total of 150m/- has been set asideduring the 2012/2013 financial year, to carry out feasibility study for theconstruction of the regional Nyakahura-Murugarama Road in Biharamulo District, KageraRegion.
He said after the completion of the feasibility study, the construction work, totarmac level will commence in phases depending on the availability of funds. He wasresponding to a question by Mr Deogratias Ntukamazima (Ngara--CCM), who queriedwhen the project would start.
