THE Central Committee of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of CCM has hailed the government for taking action against officials implicated in the Controller and Audit General's report this year.
The CCM Ideology and Publicity Secretary, Mr Nape Nnauye, said in a statement on Sunday that the CC met last Friday under the party's Chairman, President Jakaya Kikwete and among other issues deliberated on the government's implementation of CAG's recommendations.
"It should be remembered that NEC directed the government to take action against the culprits whose institutions were implicated," Mr Nnauye said in the statement.
He added that the CC also congratulated the ministers who have began acting on heads of institutions implicated in the CAG report namely those from the Tanzania Electric Supply Company, the Tanzania Bureau of Standards, the Ports Authority, Air Tanzania and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism.
Mr Nnauye said that the party's CC issued a stern warning against corruption in elections and to ensure that legal action was taken against any candidate and agents.
