STANDARD Chartered Bank Tanzania has re-assured its customers to expect more innovative products and value addition services in the near future. The assurance was given by Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania, Chief Executive Officer, Jeremy Awori during an Iftar meal hosted by the bank for its customers and partners, at Serena hotel in Dar es Salaam on Thursday evening.
“We are looking at opportunities where we will open more branches that is why we talk to you to see where we can put these branches. We will also be bringing more ATMs and there is an additional functionality we are putting in mobile banking and electronic banking,” said Mr Awori.
He said the bank over the last few months, has taken on a number of initiatives to invest in more products. “We have currently revamped our foreign currency accounts and have taken feedback from our customers; we have changed the tariffs by lowering them significantly in line with what our customers told us,” he added.
Stanchart CEO said that last year, it retained 100 per cent of its profits to allow it to invest further in its business and in its brand. “You are going to see a number of changes coming in the near future. You will see us turning our International Life House Branch into a flagship branch.
We are yet to open a priority centre and we think it will be a state of the art world class branch,” he said. He said Stanchart is greatly investing in the seeing is believing project where it hopes to raise 1.5 million USD in treating blindness.
