CHAMA Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) on Sunday lodged complaints on various irregularities and wrongdoing in collection of public views in preparation of the country's new constitution.
"The process of collecting views has been going on well, but some people are violating the procedure by going to meetings away from their villages or districts. Others are reportedly presenting letters with fake names," said CCM's Ms Zainab Shomari at a news conference but declined to name the alleged people.
She said regulations prohibit residents in a particular district to give their views before their turn, but some intruders have been doing that and even shout to people during the exercise.
Ms Shomari also said that many letters with fake names have been published by an unidentified group of people from a certain political party and presented to the Constitution Review Commission.
"Most letters submitted to the Katiba committee contain fake names because even when the committee tried to call names of people who submitted the letters, no one turned-up," the CCM leader said. "We call upon all CCM supporters, well-wishers, and Zanzibaris in general to disregard people trying to sabotage the process," she said.
