THREE people appeared before Kisutu Resident Magistrates’ Court charged with abuse of their positions contrary to Section 31 of the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Act.
The suspects Clemence Tesha, Winfrida Igogo and Amani Ngonyani pleaded not guilty to the offence and were released on bail after they fulfilled bail conditions set by the court of two sureties who signed a bond of 10m/ each.
It was alleged by State Attorney from Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau Salha Abdallah together with Sofia Gura that, on June 22, 2010 at Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technical Board Office in Dar es Salaam, the suspects Tesha and Igogo abused their positions by employing one Amani Ngonyani as Business Manager of Procurement while he had no certificate nor registered.
It was also alleged that, the suspects being Executive Director and Senior Human Resources Officer of the company, on the same date, intentionally employed Ngonyani while the said Ngonyani was not registered as Procurement and Supplies Professional and Technician.
Abdallah further alleged that, the suspect Ngonyani intentionally took up employment activities as Business Development Manager while he knew that he was not registered as procure-ment and supplies professional and technician. However, the Attorney told the court that investigations were incomplete and prayed the court for another mention date.Resident Magistrate Faisal Kahamba upheld the prayer and adjourned the case until July 26 this year for another mention.
