Former opposition political party ACT-Wazalendo Secretary-General, Samson Mwigamba has defected to the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) saying some opposition leaders are against the government’s move to bring development.
Speaking at a press conference in Dares Salaam, today, Mwigamba said 10 other ACT-Wazalendo members have joined CCM claiming that the ruling party’s focus is to serve wananchi.
However, he added that the number of defectors can go beyond 10,saying CCM is returning the country to its principles.
“We have just decided to join CCM to continue with struggles aimedat returning the country to its founding principles and fight against corruption,” thepolitician added.
Before joining ACT-Wazalendo and CCM, Mwigamba was the Arusha regional chairman for Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA).
