New phone tech to cut costs by 90pc

Private companies and public institutions have been advised to embark on new landline telephone services that save at least 90 per cent of communication charges for consumers.
The call was made by Sihebs Technologies Company Ltd Sales Officer, Rachel Israel, in Dar es Salaam while introducing the latest landline video phone link to potential consumers. The latest technology, which has already been introduced in the country, is capable of connecting more than two people through video link.
She said phones that use internet services are devised in a manner which enables subscribers to see each other while conversing. Ms Israel said the new phones would improve communication services in the country thus save more time for economic activities. “This is a new technology in Tanzania. We are the first to bring it onto the market.
The new technology saves time. Even if people are in two different regions they can see each other on their screens’’ said Ms Israel She said the new phones will save at least 90 per cent of communication charges to subscribers. According to her, buying a videophone can be a maze as there is a lot of information on different phones with varied price ranges.
