A WATCHMAN Abdallah Juma (27), from Keko Magurumbasi appeared before the Ilala District Court in Dar es Salaam today, charged with six counts of theft of over 570m/-.
Before Resident Magistrate Samwel Maweda, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded after failing to meet bail conditions.
The court had ordered the accused to secure two reliable sureties, one of them must be employee from the government or any public institution.
The case was adjourned until December 8, this year, when it will come up for mention, as the investigation was ongoing.
It is alleged that on November 20, this year, at Kipata and Swahili Street within Ilala District, the accused conspired to commit the offence after breaking into a shop and stole the said amount.
It was further alleged that on the same date and place, the accused broke into the shop of one Sebastian Gasper and stole cash worth 570m/-.
It was also alleged that on the same date and place, the accused conspired to commit an offence of breaking into another shop and stealing property worth over 3m/-.
It was alleged that on the same date and place, the accused broke into the shop of one Alfred Maunga and stole cash worth 2.5m/- and different goods valued at 3,932,000/-.
Meanwhile, a security guard with the Security Group, Kurwa Kababi (32) from Karakata Bondeni in Dar es Salaam, appeared at the same court charged with theft of 2.6m/-.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded for failure to meet bail conditions. The court had ordered the accused to secure two reliable sureties who must be government employees.
The case was adjourned until December 8, this year when it comes up for mention, as the investigation was still ongoing.
It was alleged that on November 1, this year, at Terminal Two within the Ilala District, the accused being employee with the Security Group Co., stole one camera and two toys which cost 2.6m/-, the property of Spiros Hussein.
