    THE Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB) has managed to raise 8.48bn/- deposits from its customers for the past six months.

    The bank's Chief Executive Officer, Mr Sabasaba Moshingi, said the deposits were raised during a promotional drive dubbed as "Weka Akiba Ushinde."

    Mr Moshingi made the remarks on Thursday during the presentation of 15m/- dummy cheque to the promotion grand prize winner, Abeid Karabaki of Dodoma.

    He said during the campaign aimed at promoting, expanding its market and advertising services offered by bank they spent 140m/- on cash and other prizes set aside for lucky winners.

    Mr Moshingi said 114 customers won various prizes whereas 75m/- was cash prizes while the rest included refrigerators, television and home theatre systems. He said they decided to take part in the drive to let their customers know what was happening within their scope and get close to them.

    Moreover, he said, the 40 winner who got 200,000/- were from their branches country-wide.
    The winners either deposited or opened an account with the bank during the specified period.
