TIGO on Tuesday launched internet services based on the latest 3.5G technology, promising to offer fastest and most reliable operations for its clients in the country and beyond.

The firm's Internet Commercial Manager, Mr Titus Kafuma, said that services to be delivered were tailored to meet different needs of customers at affordable prices.

"Tigo Internet is a user friendly service that allows one to browse the web, access social networks, download and listen to music, watch videos at the touch of a button.

"We are rapidly changing the way our customers experience their wireless communications as we continue to shape the future of mobile and broadband connectivity in the telecommunications industry," Mr Kafuma told a news conference.

Tigo is the first cellular network in Tanzania which started operations in 1994.

Tigo Tanzania is part of Millicom International Cellular S.A (MIC), a global telecommunications group with mobile telephone operations in 14 countries in Latin America and Africa.

The Group's mobile operations have a combined population under licence of approximately 266 million people.
